Black Eyed Vermillion

I had the pleasure of seeing Black Eyed Vermillion twice this week. They played at Mohawk on Tuesday, opening for The Business and then again Friday night at Bull McCabes with The Dirty Charley Band (post here: Dirty Charley Band) and several other bands. Both shows were a blast. They are loud, rowdy and rambunctious and play some seriously awesome music. It's difficult to describe their music because it's so diverse and they are pretty much impossible to fit into any one genre. Blues, rock, country and punk all have obvious influences on their sound and compete for attention, but no single musical classification can be used to describe them. Vocalist Gary Lindsey has a raspy, rough voice that demands your attention. He obviously has a good time and engages the audience with his wit. The rest of the band played together excellently and everything came together to produce an awesome show. I definitely can't wait to see them again!
